Yes! We encourage people of all skill levels to join our dance. You don’t need to have any experience as expert instructors from One Dance at a Time will guide you through each dance.
Will Dinner be Served?
Dinner will not be served, so we encourage you to eat beforehand. However, hors d’oeuvres and dessert tables will be provided, with gluten and dairy free options available. There will be a cash bar from 7-10pm and water stations will be available throughout.
Do I need to Register ahead of Time?
Yes, you must RSVP beforehand! To ensure we have enough food for everyone in attendance we require everyone to pre-order their tickets. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door. Early bird price discounts are available until May 31st, so why wait?
Is this event open to all ages?
This event is geared towards adults and older teens (ages 15-17), who are accompanied by an adult chaperone (the chaperone must be over 21). This event is not suitable for younger children, but infants under 6 months are welcome.
What is Contra Dancing?
Contra dancing is a form of social folk dancing. Originating from English and Scottish country dance, it is commonly associated with Appalachian folk music. In contra dancing, couples exchange partners repeatedly through a simple series of steps led by a dance caller. Contra dances are easy to learn and no experience is necessary.
